The law of attraction is about resonace. I learnt long ago that when my energy is in line with my desire is comes to me far easier than when it isn’t. It has taken some practise to resonance and what really helped me was being part of the Wealth Beyond Reason membership site which has some great tools and meditations to help. I love this video as it explains the law of attraction and how it works.

One of the ways that many people finally decide to work towards fulfilling their dream is when they are made redundant. For many (particular over 40s) it is a time when it may be difficult to get a new job because of age, or the kids are older and the dream they gave up becomes an opportunity. I have read and heard so many stories of people who were made redundant and used that time to work towards achieving their dream and successfully doing it!

For many the financial package they receive as a result of being made redundant acts like a cushion to help out while they get started and it is usually this package and the thought of not wanting to start again in the same job (usually that they are not that in love with anyway) is the fuel towards pushing them to finally do what they have always dreamt about.

And it’s not just redundancy either, retirement is another time in life when people will begin to think about what they want to do with the their life (remember Colonel Saunders of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame was in his 60s when we got started) - it is usually a major event or a huge shift in circumstances that will throw people into looking at whether now is the time to finally get started!

But it doesn’t have to be that way. With careful planning you can begin working towards it right now, even if you are still at work and in fact having the “security” of a job while working towards your dream is a lot more comforting than just quitting and hoping for the best!

So if you have been made redundant think about what you want your next step to be. Do you want to spend your time doing the same thing you have always done or is it time to step out and do something different?

The answer to that question is up to you.

In order to start working towards fulfilling your desire and getting your “IT” back you are going to have to slay a few dragons but first, even more terrifying than the continuous dragons that will fly your way is the mighthy first step you have to take.

The step I like to call your Goliath!

We are all familiar with the story of David and Goliath and if you are not the story goes that Goliath held a mighty army at bay by challenging them to slay him – if they lose they all become slaves. No one was brave enough to take him on but little David walked down to the battlefield, threw a stone at him and killed him dead.

What did David have that the others didn’t? Complete belief in his ability to slay this challenge despite how huge it seemed, despite the fact that he was tiny compared to it and despite the fact that it was something he had never attempted to do before (although he had killed a lion and a bear!!!)

As well as belief in his ability he had another huge thing that carried him through and that was his faith. His faith that whatever happened this was going to work out okay for him because he had God on his side. Now you may not believe in God but are you able to hold that feeling of complete faith that your desire will be fulfilled? That the dream you want will be a success?

First you have to experience the feeling of knowing….. Have you ever felt that feeling of just knowing something was going to work out? Or that something was definitely going to be there?

Think back to an experience in your life and capture that feeling of knowing. If you can’t think of one then consider the air you breathe. You don’t doubt that it is still going to be there tomorrow or next week (well at least I hope you don’t!) You have absolute faith that an hour from now air will still be available to you and you will be able to breathe. Now can you take that absolute feeling of knowing and transfer it to your goal/dream?

This may take some practise and patience but I promise you it will be worth it.

Not knowing is okay too

You don’t always have to have a strong knowing to succeed but it definitely does help! The only thing you must avoid is doubting something will ever work. If you are having trouble bringing up a feeling of knowing in you then that is okay because in time as you continue to work towards fulfilling your dream you will begin to feel that you know everything is going to work out – what you need to do at all costs is avoid the

feeling of NOT knowing (also known as doubt and fear)…… does that make sense????!!!!

The feeling of knowing will come as things begin to happen, as they begin to work. My desire to live and work around the world seemed like a far off dream back in 2005 but now it is so much closer and in another 4-5 years I will be living it as a reality. I am closer now to knowing it will

happen than I was back then so the feeling of knowing and certainty grows stronger within me. The thing I never did was doubt or worry about whether it would ever happen.

That doubt, worry, fear and all those other negative emotions are your Goliath and the tiny stone and sling your faith. You need to continually throw the stone at your Goliath, especially when things look like they are going wrong. Stand firm in your desire to achieve your goal and just throw the stone whenever negative feelings arise.

In order to fulfill an unfulfilled desire spend some time in silence, close your eyes and feel the sensation of knowing that this is going to happen.

Do this especially when fear, doubt, worry and all the other negative emotions creep up. Challenge yourself by asking why it is so much easier to feel fear than certainity, belief and a sense of knowing then choose which one you prefer.

And know that God (universe, divine, higher self) is also there waiting to support you with moving towards your desire too – life is so much easier when we plug into this unseen force.

I made this video about getting training in the area of becoming a successful blogger but it is still very relevant for those who are looking at changing their life which is why I include it. Training won’t do something for you that will magically change your life but it will give you the tools to help you change your life! So if you are someone who is constantly on the next seminar, or buying the most recent “hot” audio you might want to sit back and ask yourself – with all this training when am I going to actual take action?

Training and coaching works – you progress faster and with more clarity/focus than if you try and do it alone so I encourage you to get an accountability buddy at the very least – someone you can answer to and even better get coaching to help you get “IT” back!

Are you ready to fulfilled the unfulfilled? What’s the worse that could happen? What’s the best that could happen?

Even if you go for it and it doesn’t work out at least you can say you gave it a shot. The thing is if you go for it and keep the belief that you will succeed and keep working towards it until you do then there is no way it can fail anyway…. is there….????

All you really need to do to fulfill your dream is to :

Create a plan for yourself that includes examining your strengths and weaknesses

Begin to work towards removing whatever stops you (fear, doubt etc) – not BEFORE you begin but as you work towards your goal

Take part in self reflection, development and learning on an ongoing basis to ensure you are always aware of where you are with your plan, what might stop you achieving it and the strengths you can fall back on (yours and through the support of others) to keep moving forward

See…. nothing difficult about that at all

How do you define success? We all have an opportunity to define success on our own terms, this is what will make it happen. Until you define it you can’t experience it and until you experience it you will never enjoy that feeling of knowing you are a success. Instead you will keep going from goal to goal thinking each time when you achieve this one you will definitely be happy, but you seldom are!
So spend some time defining success on your terms so that as you progress towards your goal/intention you can enjoy it when you get there.

Do you remember the time you went on a diet and lost 4 pounds in your first week?

How about the time you finally managed to hold that yoga pose for longer than you could last time?

Or the time you wanted to give up smoking and you managed to get through the cravings and quit?

Maybe it was the first time you were parking your car after just passing your driving test and it didn’t take you an hour!!!

In each of those examples there was something very definite that happened, you experienced progress, you moved yourself from where you were closer to where you wanted to be and that excitement was the momentum that helps to keep you going.

You gave up alcohol and felt better, you slept better and your mind was more focused, experiencing those results helped you to stay motivated so you can continue to give up the drink. The better the result the more action you took to make sure you didn’t drink again and the easier it became to stay on that path!

This is how you get the result of Getting IT Back. You have to have the desire to get your IT back first, then you take one SMALL STEP towards it. Successfully taking that small step reinforces that you can do it and keeps you moving towards your goal. The further you move forward the more possible it becomes so the results keep reaffirming your belief that you can do it until you finally achieve it.

When you start reconnecting to passion you will need to experience progress in order to stay motivated. It doesn’t have to be a big step and it is important you note down and remember all the little steps because they will eventually get you to where you want to go.

This group of young people believe that their strength is in their diversity and their ongoing aim is to target such issues as “gang violence on our streets and gang culture, racism and discrimination, education and wellbeing , health and many more.”

Educationally focused, ambitious, motivated and with a strong sense of wanting to make a difference LondonX are a group of young people we can be very proud of because their future is bright! They volunteer, they write poetry, plays, music, they have a strong interest in politics and changing negative perceptions of young adults in the UK.

My daughter is part of this group and loved her time in America even though she spent a few days in isolation with the flu (never nice to get a call saying a loved one is sick when they are thousands of miles away!) and has really grown as a person from being part of the this fantastic experience.

The Windsor Fellowship run a number of different projects for young people and their website is at http://www.windsor-fellowship.org/

LondonX have started a group on Facebook and I will let group creator Chloe ‘Blondie’ Edmunds explain what London X is all about.

“London X is a group of 12 youths from in and around London aged between 17-19 that came together in January 2009 to embark on a program run by The Windsor Fellowship. It is sponsored by the Hummer-Tuttle Foundation and included a 2 week trip to America.

London X worked hard during 7 months of seminars to prepare themselves for what they were about to be faced with in America.

The point of the trip to America was to work building communication and bring about change for the new generation. It used diversity as its advantage and worked alongside Iraqi and American youths to find their common purpose, abolish their stereotypes and work at building a brighter future for not only their generation, but for generations yet to come.

During their trip to America, LondonX worked tirelessly in Dialogue Sessions and Activities to build the foundations for their cause. They faced huge expectations and succeeded every single one of them.”
